The story behind the name
Yes — it comes from Greek mythology. Here's how.
Cadmus of Thebes
When we started this business, we wanted a name rooted in the work we do — so we went looking for a Greek god tied to teeth. We found Cadmus.
In the myth, Cadmus was the son of Agenor, king of Tyre. When his sister was abducted, Cadmus set out to find her. An oracle eventually told him to stop searching, follow a wandering cow, and found a city wherever the animal came to rest.
As he prepared to sacrifice the cow to Athena, a dragon attacked. Cadmus killed it, pulled the teeth from its jaw, and planted half of them in the earth. From those teeth sprang an army that helped him found Thebes, where he became the first king.
Why it fits
Teeth, transformation, and building something from scratch — it seemed about right for a shop that rebuilds dental instruments for a living.
